Where tree felling is not possible, precision dismantling is required to safely remove a tree.

Crown thinning and reduction involves trimming out inner damaged or dead branches without effecting the overall shape of the tree whilst reducing the density. This is normally used to let light through the canopy or to reduce the weight on a weaker limb. This is a great way of letting light down to your garden giving the appearance of more space and allowing grass and flowers below to flourish.   

We can inform you on the correct species of tree for the space you need planting. Then plant with proper planting and staking techniques to give the tree the best start at the beginning  of its long life.

It is one of ABTS  top  priorities to replant trees.  This is why for every tree we remove, we will replant a tree for free at a local school or council area.  We aim to plant more trees than we remove.  

Crown raising involves removing the lowest branches of a tree, lifting the tree's canopy. This is normal done over pathways or drive ways. It is a great way of increasing space and light without removing a tree.

Brash will be chipped and removed from site where required. 

All our chip is recycled and often donated to local council, allotments, gardening projects and forest schools.

Logs are turned into fire wood and charcoal.

Stems, where possible, are milled into slabs and recycled into furniture and guitars.

Pollarding is when you remove the outer branches to the stem or major limb. This is normally used when the a tree has grown drastically too big for its environment, as a result,  crown reduction is no longer a suitable option. It can also be used, when a big tree has become unsafe, too drastically lower the height and weight, this is necessary for saving the tree. A pollarded tree will need maintaining on a regular basis to stop them putting too much growth back on.

Tree Felling involves felling a tree from the floor in one, if the environment allows this to  be done safely .

This is used to remove a tree safely where there is enough room, as a result climbing is not necessary.
